So...

Good Saturday Morning from Studio City, CA! I want to start out this blog entry by thanking Kenya, Lucia and Ruzzo for getting things started on this blog with some comments. Indeed, Kenya, this guy is going to blow up! Lucia, I remember that show...you went from 0 to groupie in 3.7 seconds! Can I get a "what, what?" And Ruzzo, thanks again to you and Venice for giving me an opportunity to help bring his music to the masses. With or without me it's going to happen...but it's nice to be a part of it. Welcome to the blog!

Yesterday brought a few new seeds planted, with a phone call to a close friend in Florida who is a gifted guitar player himself and plays cover work around town. Venice would like to play an acoustic show in the Orlando area on an upcoming trip to the state; I'd like to see him extend the trip to play a few gigs, including Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater. So, I drop the knowledge on my buddy and tell him to have his wife call me: both are very dear friends...both are musicians doing niche work in the industry. His wife is a long-time vocal and music instructor with her own practice, and she works for the local school. When Robbie's not strummin' a guitar at a local joint, he's straightening out kids with an attitude as a Hillsborough County sheriff's Deputy on the local [jr.?] high school campus. You go boy!

Anywho, Robbie and I will talk in the next day or so and then I'll introduce him and Ruzzo.

By the by, Ruzzo, who will be commenting on this blog from time to time is Venice's manager. Feel free to ask him questions about Venice, his work with Venice, or the industry in general at any time. I'm sure that he'll be happy to share the knowledge. (Thanks in advance Ruzzo!)

The week ended with some commitments to research some new avenues for promoting Venice Maki, including expanding the reach of this blog -- its premise -- with its own unique URL, and a webcast of an upcoming show Venice will play. On the latter...got some input? We already have a webcam and can use this along with MSN Messenger to cast, but something tells me there's better options that are just as easy and have a better playback quality and wider reach. We'd love to learn more about how to make a webcast happen with little effort and investment. Not that we're not committed to doing what it takes...but isn't grass-roots promotion based on getting as much done with as little investment of any kind?

You people feeling me?

{And the music plays on...} It's all the same...run away...gotta move on!!

Stay tuned....
