So...
Good morning listeners!
A BIG WELCOME to our new RSS subscribers whomever and wherever you are! As noted in a previous post, we've launched this blog via FeedBurner.com, syndicating all content posted to it to a world audience who we hope will catch on to the music of Venice Maki. In just two or three short days 3 people have subscribed to the feed! Okay, okay, so one of them is me, but hey, that's still one subscriber EVERY DAY! If we can keep that up, Venice Maki will be a household name in lesser time thatn it will take to get the US gas price back down below two dollars a gallon! FYI: Gas is $3.33 per gallon on average in California at the writing of this post. CRAZY!
I wanted to take a moment in this post to clarify something that has been asked of me via email a number of times now and on the streets where I share the knowledge of Venice Maki and his music. This blog is a private effort by me, Christopher Michael, to go to any length to spread the word about a new emerging and talented artist who by now you know is Venice Maki. I am a dedicated follower of the man and his music and I am using my practical and techinical skills to help advance both. I DO NOT work for Venice, his label, his distribution company or his management firm Keynote Management, nor do I work for a promotional agency or any other such firm. While I am fortunate enough to be good friends with his manager, and, while I am even more fortunate to have the opportunity to build a frienship with the artist himself, I write, maintain and promote this blog on my own free will, at my own descretion. As I have before in this blog, I thank Venice and his manager Ruzzo for embracing this blog and supporting my efforts through simple thanks and praise. If you'd like to reach Venice Maki, his management, his record label or his booking agency for private or professional communication, you can visit his website at www.venicemaki.com (or click on his name in various places throughout the blog). (Venice has a great personal message board on his official site that he personally maintains.) I've also made links to his site and other related resources available thru this blog which you can find in the right-side margin of all of its pages. Please continue to keep up with and share the news of this blog as I hope to create a community of what I like to call "listeners;" poeple who like good...no, great music and want to help spread the word when they hear it. Many thanks to all of those who are already doing so. When I use the words "we," "us" and "our" it YOU and me to whom I am referring.
And that's that.
Another question that I have been getting is "How do I see new posts?" To do this listeners need to click on the "Current Posts" link on the right-side margin of any page of the blog. I will always have the domain address of the blog -- www.thiswayisout.com -- pointing to important announcements, so this is the first page you will see when visiting the site via this address (those of you going to http://thiswayisout.blogspot.com will see the blog home page (current posts).) As I continue to learn more about utilizing this blog, I will keep listeners updated on how to use it.
To our California listeners, don't forget the HUGE Industry Event @ The Mint, Los Angeles featuring Venice Maki and Hodges Taylor! I am particularly excited about this event as I have been promoting the event quite prominently through the blog and I am anxious to see if our efforts have proven valuable to the turnout that is yet to come. If you hear about the event here on thiswayisout.com and have an opportunity to meet me, Venice or his management at the event, please mention that you heard about here! Me: A youthful mid-30's, medium height hispanic man, black hair, brown eyes, likely to be wearing a beenie, dark glasses and a shirt with some off-kilter catch-phrase that will make you laugh!
Hope to see you at the show!
Stay tuned....
